villain

What is depression?Depression is something that can be passed on through genetics and something that can just occur you can be born with it. If you are born with it, it means that you have small frontal lobes. Depression isn't something you can just get over you have to have intense care some people take 12 years to get over it but for others it might be 2 or 3 years.
How is depression a villain?Well depression takes a lot of things away from you, you stop doing what you love, you shut yourself out from people and socialising, you find a need to feel worthless and your not motivated at all.
Where is the word depression from?it was originally from the word derimpere - definition( press down)... just like  feeling down 24/7. If you are feeling down the easiest way to be happy is talk to a friend but studies show that it takes people who are genuinely sad to at least talk to someone 2 months sometime 3. So if you see anyone looking upset or frustrated ask them whats wrong it might help more than you think
Who can depression affect? It doesn't just affect you it, it affects your hole family and the people around you, but how? Well being sad is contagious also the place you live also impacts how you feel, even who you hang with, you can also be sad from emotional songs and way more studies show that if you listen to sad music you will be sad for at least 1 month im not saying don't make sad music or sad music you can listen to that what i'm simply trying to say is listen a mix of happy music and sad music. If you genuinely think someone is making you sad and your there friend I would suggest telling them that because they might not know and carry on doing what they are doing.

When does depression become serious?
Depression doesn't become serious it is serious at the start even if you don't have depression but your feeling depressed it serious because you matter just like every other person you see. And you may think if your problem is small and you don't want to go get help because it's wasting your consulares time no its their job they are there for anyone for anything even someone to just hug or say hi to they are there.

Depression isn't something to joke about!  And just remember be kind to people and ask if they are ok it might help more than you think. Where

  1. Kia ora Lexie my name is Te Aroha and I am a year 8 at Kawakawa Primary School. Your piece of writing of depression really taught me a lot about it. I never knew about many of the things you said in it like when you put in there that you can be born with it. This raises great awareness about depression and gives you some good information about depression. Thank you for sharing this, great work Lexie =D
